Kristi Noem Reveals the Last Text She Got From Charlie Kirk — the Day Before His Death
Homeland Security honcho Kristi Noem has revealed she received a text from Charlie Kirk on the day before his assassination, but she missed it and never responded.
Appearing on the Pod Force One podcast with the New York Post’s Miranda Devine, Noem was asked about her relationship with Kirk and his message to her.
“The last message he had texted me was the day before he passed away,” Noem answered. “And it said, ‘We have to hold these mayors and local officials accountable for what they’re doing.'”
But sadly, Noem missed the message while traveling at the time, and didn’t respond. The next day, Kirk was dead, shot by an assassin’s bullet.
“I was traveling and in meetings in a different time zone and I didn’t see it and missed it. I will always feel bad that I didn’t respond because I would have said, ‘Absolutely, I’m on it,’ which I am, but I think he knew that,” said Noem.

MIRANDA DEVINE: I wanted to ask you about Charlie Kirk because I know you were close to him. He met your family, your children. Tell us about the last message that you had from him?
KRISTIE NOEM: Well, Charlie, yeah, he was incredible. It still makes me so sad that it’s hard to talk about just the I don’t know why it feels like such a heavy grief, but I think everybody’s feeling that. Yeah. The last message he had texted me was the day before he passed away and it said, “We have to hold these mayors and local officials accountable for what they’re doing.” Um, you know, he I think he was watching across this country as people were continuing to be victimized by illegal criminal activity and and he wanted someone to be held accountable. And so, and I was traveling and in meetings in a different time zone and I didn’t see it and missed it. And I will always feel bad that I didn’t respond because I would have said absolutely I’m on it, which I am. And but I think he knew that.
DEVINE: I mean he was such a good-hearted and dynamic person. Um and it’s terrifying to think that this kind of violence is now targeting the right.
