He may have just lost his defamation case and $2.3 million, but the “MyPillow guy” is keeping a cheery outlook.
Jurors in Denver have found that Mike Lindell, the Donald Trump loyalist and prominent 2020 election denier, defamed Eric Coomer, a former director with Dominion Voting Systems, when he called him “a traitor.”
As a result, Lindell has been ordered to pay Coomer $2.3 million in damages, a significant drop from the $62.7 million Coomer demanded.
And that, for Lindell, was a cause for celebration.
Lindell was beaming outside court as he was interviewed on LindellTV’s The Rudy Giuliani Show.
“I hope Mike doesn’t feel too down. He never does,” former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani said as he kicked it to Lindell for a statement.
“It was awesome,” Lindell told Giuliani.
He also called the judgment a “huge victory for our country,” adding that, “MyPillow was sued for no reason and they won.”
“All the pillow companies have to be happy because now they can’t be sued for libel.”
Coomer sued Lindell back in 2022 for defamation based on the pillow entrepreneur’s repeated false claims that Dominion Voting Systems were used to rig the 2020 presidential election in former President Joe Biden’s favor. Lindell even released a movie touting his conspiracy theories in 2021 called Absolute Proof.
Despite the joyous tone, Lindell plans to appeal the verdict.
