Neil Young debuted his newest protest anthem at a benefit concert in Los Angeles Saturday night with a politically loaded reimagining of Woody Guthrie’s classic This Land Is Your Land, complete with digs at Big Auto and one of tech’s biggest moguls: Elon Musk.

Young’s version, titled Let’s Roll Again, doubles as a battle cry against corporate complacency and climate inaction.

“Come on Ford / Come on GM / Come on Chrysler / Let’s roll again,” he sang at the Light Up the Blues fundraiser for Autism Speaks.

His verses then turned sharper: “Build us something that won’t kill our kids… Build us something that runs real clean.”

And then came the line: “If you’re a fascist, get a Tesla.”

Young didn’t stop there. “If you’re a Democrat, taste your freedom,” he added.

The 78-year-old artist has long clashed with Musk, boycotting X after the billionaire endorsed an antisemitic post in 2023. Young has also publicly slammed President Donald Trump — calling him a “disgrace”—and recently joined a protest waving a sign that read: “Hands off Canada.”

The Canadian-born rocker, now a U.S. citizen, hasn’t shied away from warning about America’s political climate either. “If I talk about Donald J. Trump, I may be one of those returning to America who is barred or put in jail,” he wrote on his website.

Musk has not commented on Young’s lyrical assault.
