Pam Bondi Insists She’s Going Nowhere Amid Epstein Files Fallout

Attorney General Pam Bondi insisted on Tuesday that she is remaining in her position amid calls for her to resign over Epstein Files backlash.

“I’m going to be here for as long as the president wants me here, and I believe he’s made that crystal clear,” Bondi said at a press conference when asked about calls for a “change” at the Department of Justice.

A Department of Justice/FBI memo claiming there is no high profile client list of late billionaire Jeffrey Epstein does not exist, despite Trump officials touting such a list. Bondi herself has come under fire as she referenced an Epstein client list in February, saying it was sitting on her desk. Epstein died of apparent suicide while being charged with sex trafficking in 2019.

Bondi said on Tuesday she’s continuing in her role and the Epstein fallout has not affected her job as attorney general.

“I was with [FBI] Director [Kash] Patel this morning, and we are working on fighting violent crime. We are working all these issues that we deeply care about to make America safe again and get these drugs off our streets,” she said.

The split in MAGA reportedly exists in the White House too as FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino, according to reports, said either he or Bondi needed to be dropped from their posts. Bongino was reportedly so upset with the memo that he took an entire day off of work.

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) added himself to the growing list of people calling for the release of the Epstein Files, arguing this week that Bondi needs to “come forward” and do more on the case.

President Donald Trump has repeatedly dismissed the fallout, claiming the Epstein list, claiming it was “made up” by former President Barack Obama and his officials. He’s also defended Bondi’s handling of the case. When asked last week about the list with Bondi sitting next to him, Trump called it a “desecration” to focus on Epstein over other domestic issues.
