Presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was set to have a great, big celebrity fundraising celebration for his birthday this month — and then they all denied they were going to be there. And now, Kennedy is backing out of his own party.

The Daily Beast reported on Monday that Kennedy would not be attending the event, per the candidate’s press team. This comes after Dionne Warwick and Martin Sheen indicated they had no intention of appearing at the event advertised by American Values 2024 and Silent Majority 4 RFK, super PACs supporting Kennedy. The event is also no longer being advertised on the campaign’s official site, but the URL still touts the names of Sheen, Warwick, Mike Tyson, and Andrea Bocelli.

The event is still scheduled for January 22 in Indian Wells, CA and was intended to serve as a fundraiser as well as a birthday celebration for Kennedy, who turns 70 this month. As of this writing, the “invite-only” event does not boast any A-list names on its guest list.  When it started to get some coverage, the original guests started coming forward, not only saying they had no knowledge of the event, and in Sheen’s case, throwing his support behind President Joe Biden.
