Social Media Fries NYC Mayoral Hopeful Andrew Cuomo Over Scrambled Breakfast Order

New York City mayoral hopeful Andrew Cuomo is getting raked over the bodega griddle for his puzzling response to a question about his go-to breakfast order.

Cuomo, who’s trying to mount a political comeback after resigning as New York’s governor four years ago, mixed up the order of the classic bacon, egg, and cheese in an interview this week — an offense tantamount to eating pizza with a knife and fork (in the eyes of New Yorkers anyway).

“Bacon, cheese, and egg on an English muffin, and then I try to take off the bacon, but I don’t really take off the bacon,” Cuomo told The New York Times in a Q&A titled “10 Questions With Andrew Cuomo.”

Cuomo’s bungling of the Big Apple breakfast staple did not go unnoticed by some true New Yorkers, who melted down like a slice of American cheese on social media.

This man is not a New Yorker.

Calling it a “Bacon, Cheese and Egg” is psychotic. It’s like ordering a “Jelly and Peanut Butter.” This is worst thing Andrew Cuomo has ever done.
(Remembers all the other stuff he’s done)
Ok well it’s still bad.

Others were quick to pounce on the Times itself for not grilling Cuomo about how he resigned in disgrace amid numerous allegations of sexual harassment as governor and controversial decisions made as COVID-19 ravaged New York.

Cuomo denied any wrongdoing, even as he resigned in August 2021.

Will it be a case of forgive and fuhgeddaboudit on Election Day? New Yorkers head to the polls for the mayoral primary on June 24.
