‘That Didn’t Stop the Attacks, Kayleigh!’ Fox News Hosts Spar Over Proposal to Kill Iranian Leaders
Fox News’ Marie Harf and Kayleigh McEnany duked it out on Outnumbered over what good it would do for the United States to take direct military action against Iran’s leaders amid the Middle East’s current instability.
The two squared off on Monday as McEnany criticized the Biden administration’s posture toward the Middle East throughout the ongoing Israel-Hamas war and anti-American hostilities. This eventually led to Harris Faulkner asking Harf why American troops are still stationed in the region if they aren’t taking more aggressive action against those who’ve been attacking U.S. bases.
Harf began her answer by speaking of the geopolitical complications the U.S. faces in striking back at Iran-backed militants. As she moved on to the Biden administration’s sanctions on Iran, Harf turned to the question: “Are we actually talking about striking Iran, in Iran?”
“Take out a [Qasem] Soleimani-type figure like Trump did,” McEnany recommended. That’s when Harf shot back, “But that didn’t stop the attacks, Kayleigh!”
“Not a single American servicemember died in the final year of his presidency,” said the former Trump press secretary. Even so, Harf continued emphasizing, “It didn’t stop the attacks. Iran is still attacking. That didn’t stop them.”
#OneLuckyGuy Raymond Arroyo cut in at that point to say, “How about declaring clearly what your objective is in the region and who you stand with and stop this political two-step to keep the Palestinians at home.”
Harf tried to offer a rebuttal that “saying that doesn’t stop it,” but Faulkner sided with Arroyo and then ended the discussion.
