Francesca Hong’s Top Six Wildest Takes From Years of Trolling on the Internet

If you were a hard-right MAGA loyalist looking to show your apolitical friend a prototype of an ultra-woke progressive, with no shortage of controversial takes, Francesca Hong is a gift from the political gods.

The democratic socialist and Wisconsin gubernatorial candidate appears to be hardwired to spew eyebrow-raising opinions, with her 2021 call to cancel Thanksgiving being an obvious example that has grabbed headlines recently.

But it goes beyond that. Hong seems to hate about half of all major holidays, loathe capitalism, want to get rid of police, and have a self-inflicted allergy to white people. Although she has worked to walk back some of her takes in recent weeks, she’s an opposition researcher’s dream, and is currently going into Tuesday night’s Wisconsin Democratic Party primary for governor as the heavy favorite to win the nomination.

That’s my opinion, but I’ve got some examples to back it up. Check them out below.

Holiday Hater 

It’s not just Thanksgiving.

Hong griped in 2019 that she felt “attacked” when the “IT bro” at work changed her computer background to show snow and Christmas trees. She did not expand on why she felt threatened by it… or why she couldn’t just change the background again without complaining.

She doesn’t love Valentine’s Day, either. Hong whined in 2022 “VDay” was a bogus holiday where “the worst of humanity comes out from folks ‘celebrating’ on another day capitalism tells you how to show love.” How romantic.

And Hong has become synonymous with her deleted anti-Thanksgiving take, which recently resurfaced. Hong fumed the holiday is “incredibly painful” for many Americans and should have been aborted in 1621 — a claim she could only defend with a rambling 46-second non-answer when she was confronted by CNN’s Kaitlan Collins about it last week.

Hong then did a complete 180 flip two days later and said Thanksgiving was actually her favorite holiday.

Abolish Everything 

It might be easier to list the things Hong has not called to abolish.

The police? Check. Prisons? Check. ICE? Check. The Senate? Yeah, that too.

Hong has called to abolish all of ’em, like in 2021 when she said all cops have to go. “Police exist to uphold white supremacy. Defund then abolish. Reform can’t be an option,” Hong declared.

A Bizarre Fixation on White People

Hong seems a bit obsessed with race.

She posted in 2019 that she was on the verge of having an anxiety attack at a Culver’s restaurant because there were too many “old white people” there who assumed she didn’t speak English. A year later, she claimed the restaurant industry had “deep roots in white supremacy.” 

And beyond her aforementioned concern police “uphold white supremacy” by merely existing, she also admitted in 2021 she was worried about her “proximity to whiteness” due to her son.

“My son is biracial. He is half-white and half-Korean, and I think navigating, you know, what his identity is and how people perceive him is always at the back of my mind,” Hong said.

The clip of Hong lamenting her son’s ethnic background cracked up Fox & Friends co-host Lawrence Jones last week, who found it hilarious the socialist — who was once married to a white guy — would complain about such a thing.

“You slept with the guy!” Jones said.

She Slammed the Bar ‘C*nts’ Who Protested Covid-19 Restrictions

Hong was livid in 2020 when The Tavern League of Wisconsin — a state trade association and lobbying group — protested restaurant restrictions due to Covid-19.

Hong posted the “corrupt, crooked, c*nts at The Tavern League do not represent the interests of all bars and restaurants,” and said she had “pleaded” for months for restaurant workers to get “united messaging” on pandemic restrictions.

Down With Capitalism 

Hong would make Karl Marx proud with some of her posts over the years.

In 2022, she posted “Capitalism without competition is exploitation” during then-President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address.

And two years earlier, she tied capitalism to racism and sexism, posting that Wisconsin’s politicians “do not f*cking care if Wisconsinites die, especially since those who are dying are disproportionately POC. Protecting white supremacy patriarical capitalism is their only priority.”

A Top Notch Trump Basher 

Hong wouldn’t be a viable democratic socialist unless she had a few posts where she ranted against the president. And she certainly has some.

Hong has posted about Trump sending his “SECRET POLICE” after citizens, accused him of “blatant and racist” voter suppression, and claimed the president and his followers peddle “Fraud, Fear, Fascism, and F*ckery.”

She has kept the Trump hate going in 2026, with Hong appearing to endorse assassinating the president by saying it was “about f*cking time we 86 Trump.”
