Rep. Seth Mouton (D-MA), a Marine Corps combat veteran, denounced Polymarket as “DISGUSTING” for allowing customers to place bets on the fate of a U.S. fighter pilot still missing after ejecting over Iran.

One pilot of the downed F-15 was successfully rescued, but the crew member remains unaccounted for.

The New York Times reported Friday that a second Air Force combat plane crashed in the Persian Gulf, Friday, and that the sole pilot was successfully rescued.

Moulton posted to X about speculation over the missing crew member.

“There is an ongoing search and rescue operation for a missing American service member whose plane was shot down over Iran. Their safety is unknown,” Moulton wrote.

“They could be your neighbor, a friend, a family member. And people are betting on whether or not they’ll be saved. This is DISGUSTING.”

Moulton added, “Quick reminder too that @DonaldJTrumpJr is an investor in this dystopian death market and may have access to intelligence that isn’t public yet.”

Under the heading, “US confirms pilots rescued by…?” Polymarket allows bettors to wager whether the pilot will be rescued on April 3 (Buy Yes 19¢, Buy No 89¢) or on April 4 (Buy Yes 65¢, Buy No 39¢).

Polymarket is a blockchain-based prediction market platform. Donald Trump Jr.’s venture capital firm, 1789 Capital, investment in the company in August 2025.
