WATCH LIVE: Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Senate Confirmation Hearing

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is on Capitol Hill on Wednesday for a Senate confirmation hearing for the role of Health and Human Services Secretary.

Kennedy ran for president as a third-party candidate before ultimately dropping out of the race and endorsing President Donald Trump. In return, Trump nominated him to run the Department of Health and Human Services.

The pick has proven to be extremely controversial, with critics pointing to Kennedy’s history of anti-vaccine views and other health-related opinions. Those involved in the hearing will likely bring up those views, as well as the explosive letter from Caroline Kennedy — his cousin — calling him a “predator.”

Nicole Shanahan, Kennedy’s former running mate, has continued to support him post-election. In fact, she’s even threatened to primary against any senator who doesn’t vote to confirm Kennedy for the position.
