WATCH: Protesters With ‘Jewish Voices for Peace’ Arrested At Capitol Hill Demonstration Against Israel
Activists with the radical “Jewish Voices for Peace” group staged demonstrations in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday calling for a ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas war. The protest coincided with demonstrations across the Arab world over the widespread dissemination of Hamas’s not credible claim that Israel bombed a hospital in Gaza on Tuesday.
The protest was attended by Democrat and “Squad” member Rep. Rashida Tlaib, who despite all evidence to the contrary continued to insist that Israel bombed the hospital, and she is blaming President Joe Biden in part for that and what she is calling a “genocide.”
NewsNation was on the scene for the protest, which included staging inside a Capitol office building’s rotunda (note, not the Capitol Rotunda), where a “CEASEFIRE” banner was unfurled and arrests were made.
The group staging the protest came under fire from top Democrat Rep. Jerry Nadler on Wednesday as seeking to “end Israel as a Jewish & democratic state.”
That group, “Jewish Voices for Peace”, has a fairly extensive history of Anti-Israel activism as well as public statements in support of Hamas such as: “Blaming Hamas for firing rockets is like blaming a woman for punching her rapist.”
Photos and videos of the protest were shared on social media, and Fox News correspondent Chad Pergram reported from the rotunda that situation is “very volatile.
