‘Wow’: Anderson Cooper Reacts With Total Shock at New Angle of Philly Plane Crash

CNN’s Anderson Cooper and one of his guests reacted with shock Friday night upon viewing a new video of the deadly plane crash that killed at least six people in Philadelphia.

Just after 6 p.m. ET, a medical jet departing the city and bound for Mexico with a stop in Missouri careened to the ground and appeared to crash in or near the middle of a major street during rush hour.

The aircraft went up in flames and devastated structures near the crash.

During CNN’s coverage of the incident – which occurred two days after a commercial jet collided with a U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter near Reagan National Airport in Washington, D.C. – a new angle of the crash emerged.

While former U.S. Department of Transportation Inspector General Mary Schiavo discussed the origin of the flight, Cooper cut her off to air the clip.

“Wow, look at this. This is new video that we are seeing now for the first time,” he said. “Um, where you actually see the aircraft, let’s – we’ll obviously show that to you again.”

CNN aired the clip again, drawing reactions from Cooper and Schiavo:

SCHIAVO: Oh, my. Oh, my, yeah, that’s –

COOPER: I mean, that is a large fireball.

SCHIAVO: It did appear to be spinning as it came down, rotating somewhat.

COOPER: The aircraft itself seemed to be rotating?

SCHIAVO: Out of control completely, yeah.

COOPER: Wow.

President Donald Trump commented on the plane crash on his Truth Social account Friday evening.

“So sad to see the plane go down in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. More innocent souls lost,” he wrote. “Our people are totally engaged. First Responders are already being given credit for doing a great job. More to follow. God Bless you all.”
