Candace Owens Vows to Fight Macron Lawsuit Over Claim French First Lady Is a Man: ‘Obvious’ She ‘Has a Penis’
Candace Owens doubled down on her claim that French First Lady Brigitte Macron was born a man on Wednesday after French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife filed a defamation lawsuit against the right-wing commentator accusing her of spreading the conspiracy theory that Brigitte was born “Jean-Michel Trogneux.”
The 218-page complaint, filed in Delaware, alleges Owens used this claim across multiple podcast episodes and social media posts to boost her following and profit from the ensuing controversy. The Macrons say they repeatedly asked Owens to stop, but she escalated instead. The suit seeks damages and a retraction.
Owens, who earlier this year published an eight-part series on her YouTube titled Becoming Brigitte, opened today’s episode with the announcement that she had been sued “by the First Lady-Man of France” and then raised her arms in reaction to a clip from the movie Gladiator.
“You are a very goofy man, Brigitte. But I’ve got to give it to you, you’ve definitely got balls,” she said. “Fire everyone around you who said this was a very good idea for you to be the first sitting first lady of a country to file a lawsuit against a journalist in another country.”
Owens went on to argue that the lawsuit against her is an “obvious and desperate public relations strategy,” and that it is “beyond obvious” that the French First Lady “has a penis”.
She also emphasized that her requests to interview Brigitte Macron for her YouTube series were denied, saying her team was “unwilling to answer yes or no questions that we emailed to them.”
She put a cap on the segment by claiming the Macrons are actually defaming her in their lawsuit and declaring she will see them in court.
