Joe Rogan Urges Texas Progressive, ‘You Need to Run For President’
Joe Rogan urged state Representative James Talarico (D-TX) to run for president in Friday’s episode of The Joe Rogan Experience.
“You need to run for president. We need someone who is actually a good person,” Rogan said toward the end of their lengthy discussion. Talarico, who was elected to the Texas House of Representatives in 2018, laughed and then asked to push back on the latter part of Rogan’s statement:
TALARICO: Can I actually push back on that?
ROGAN: Please.
TALARICO: We were talking about how politics has become a religion. This is one of the ways it does. People put all their faith in a politician.
ROGAN: No, but I’m not saying that.
TALARICO: I’ve seen it with Bernie. I like Bernie a whole lot, but some people treat him as if he’s a messianic figure. And Trump on the right, people treat him as a messiah in some ways. This is a problem.
ROGAN: Bernie is one of the only ones that has been remarkably consistent his entire career.
TALARICO: I know, but he’s still a flawed human being, right? Just like we all are.
ROGAN: But that’s so rare. I think that should be praised.
TALARICO: The change is going to come from your listeners, not from me. I can be a part of that.
Also in their conversation, Rogan slammed some Texas abortion restrictions, calling them “very creepy.”
