Steve Bannon Goes Off On Kash Patel Presser About Kirk Shooter: ‘I’m Not Seeing the Great Law Enforcement Work’

Steve Bannon slammed FBI Director Kash Patel and Utah Governor Spencer Cox (R) over a press conference on Friday confirming that Charlie Kirk’s alleged shooter had been arrested.

Shortly after President Donald Trump revealed the suspect in Kirk’s shooting had been apprehended on Fox & Friends, Cox, Patel, and other officials held a press conference identifying the suspected shooter as Tyler Robinson.

Bannon, on his Bannon’s War Room podcast, blasted the press conference as little more than a “group hug” lacking “content.” The former advisor to Trump accused both Patel and Cox of not revealing enough details about the shooter and his motives. The governor did reveal messages engraved on the shooter’s bullet casings like “hey fascist, catch!” and “If you read this, you are gay LMAO.”

Kirk was shot and killed on Wednesday during an event at Utah Valley University.

Bannon said Friday’s press conference left “so many unanswered questions” and seemed mostly focused on law enforcement “glazing” each other.

“Correct me if I’m wrong, we watched the nine minute press conference yesterday and the pictures that came up and went all over the internet, and it appears the kid had said something to the family, the family had the goods to confront him and the family turned him in. I’m not seeing the great law enforcement work and I’m not, you know, saying there’s not great law enforcement. They all came together, I got that, but this was not through law enforcement work,” he argued.

Bannon went on to call Cox “obnoxious” and accused him of giving a “political pep talk” at the press conference.

“What I wanna see is some law enforcement people step up to the microphone, give some details and take some questions from the media. I don’t know why Kash flew out there, you know, thousands of miles to give us, hey, we’re working partnerships and our great partnership in Utah,” Bannon said, blasting the presser as mostly officials telling each other they “did a great job.”

Bannon also took issue with Cox saying at one point that they are not actively looking for accessories to the shooting.

“This is why people get so frustrated. And no, governor, no, no. We’re not gonna have a group hug and sit down with Democrats. They are targeting conservatives. They’re targeting leaders. Charlie Kirk’s not replaceable.”
