Travis and Jason Kelce Crack Up as Shaq Lip Syncs to His Favorite Taylor Swift Song
Shaquille O’Neal showed off his love for one of Taylor Swift’s hit songs on the latest episode of Jason and Travis Kelce’s podcast, New Heights, causing the brothers to crack up as the NBA Hall-of-Famer lip synced along.
O’Neal was the guest on the first episode after Swift had announced she had finally bought the rights to the master recordings for her first six albums, a years-long saga that inspired her to start re-recording her albums as “Taylor’s Versions.” The chart-topping success of the Taylor’s Version albums plus her worldwide Eras Tour brought Swift the financial power to purchase the master recordings, music videos, concert footage, album art and photography, and unreleased songs “outright with no strings attached,” and she effusively thanked her fans in a letter she posted on her website last Friday.
Count Shaq among the happy Swifties celebrating along with the singer. The Kelce brothers shared a clip of the basketball star on Tuesday to promote the new episode of their podcast, showing O’Neal cuing up what he said was his favorite Swift song.
After Jason shouted an enthusiastic introduction for “THE BIG SHAMROCK,” O’Neal joked that he was also “the Black Kelce Brother,” drawing laughter and cheers from the brothers.
“Hold on,” said O’Neal, “I gotta show you guys somethin’ –”
The familiar intro to “I Knew You Were Trouble” from Swift’s 2012 album Red began to play from O’Neal’s cell phone — the original version, not the re-recorded Taylor’s Version from 2021.
O’Neal smiled as he held up his phone and lip synced the lyrics and both Kelce brothers cracked up. Travis joined in, lip syncing and dancing in his seat to his girlfriend’s song.
“That’s my favorite song in the world, brotha,” said O’Neal. “I love it, you know it.”
“Shout out to Tay Tay,” said Travis as he clapped, still laughing. “Just got that song back, too. Just bought all her music back so it’s finally hers too, man. I appreciate that, dog.”
“Ah, I love you guys,” said O’Neal.
“Love you, big dog,” said Travis.
“All love,” said O’Neal.
