Tucker Carlson and Marjorie Taylor Greene Offer Shocking Praise for Socialist Zohran Mamdani: ‘He Gave the Right Answer!’

Tucker Carlson and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) both offered praise for New York City Democratic mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani despite his socialist policies.

On The Tucker Carlson Show, Greene pointed to Mamdani’s surprising victory over Democratic candidates like Andrew Cuomo as proof of her own party’s failure, while Carlson argued Mamdani is gaining support for his ability to connect with voters more so than his specific policies. Carlson and Greene both praised Mamdani’s answer at a Democratic debate where candidates were asked what foreign country they would visit. Everyone said Israel, while Mamdani said he would stay in New York City to focus on New Yorkers’ problems.

“They all, of course, all had an answer. I think most said Israel. Great. And he said, ‘I wouldn’t go anywhere. I’d stay in New York. And, like, if I want to meet Jewish constituents, I go to their synagogues, their homes or whatever, but I’d be here in New York because that’s what I’m doing.’ I’m running New York. That’s my job,” Carlson said.

“Well, he gave the right answer,” Grene said.

“He gave the right answer,” Carlson agreed.

Both made clear they do not agree with Mamdani on policy, but argued Mamdani was the only Democratic candidate connecting with voters and focusing on issues specific to New York.

“They look at this man who’s been in our country for what? Six years? Six years. So he’s foreign born. He’s a socialist and he’s promising to empty the prisons and do all kinds of crazy things and he talking, but he’s talking to them on their level and talking about the problems they are facing relating to them with the problems you’re facing. So these young people have no choice but to turn to this,” Greene said.

“I agree,” Carlson said.

TUCKER CARLSON: People are so desperate for government-run grocery stores or love socialism or love like foreign-born midwits running their cities? Probably not. That guy was the only person in the New York City mayor’s debate to say he wanted to focus on New York city. They were, all the candidates were asked if you could visit a foreign country, what would it be? And they all, of course, all had an answer. I think most said Israel. Great. And he said, “I wouldn’t go anywhere. I’d stay in New York. And like, if I want to meet Jewish constituents, I go to their synagogues, their homes or whatever, but I’d be here in New York because that’s what I’m doing. I’m running New York. That’s my job.”

MARJORIE TAYLOR GREENE: Well, he gave the right answer

CARLSON: He gave the right answer. He gave the right answer. And at least he’s talking — I totally oppose his program.

GREENE: Absolutely.

CARLSON: I don’t think it works, but he’s talking about economics and everyone else is talking about foreign policy. Why is it hard to talk about economics, domestic economics?

GREENE: I don’t know, apparently they don’t know how to fix it. Well, look who he was running against. He’s looking, I mean, the failed mayor, Andrew Cuomo, look at him.

CARLSON: Governor, yeah.

GREENE: Or governor. Yeah. Discussing sexual, all types of accusations. So he was he was seen as the dirty establishment Democrat. That really never solved anyone’s problems. They already had him and they still have the same problems. They’re still poor. They can’t afford life. They can afford to move up in the world. And so they looked at Andrew Cuomo and like, why am I going to vote for him? He’s not going to make my life better. And so they look at this man who’s been in our country for what? Six years? Six years. So he’s foreign born. He’s a socialist and he’s promising to empty the prisons and do all kinds of crazy things and he talking, but he’s talking to them on their level and talking about the problems they are facing relating to them with the problems you’re facing. So these young people have no choice, but to turn to this.

CARLSON: I agree.

GREENE: And it is a failure. It is literally a failure of the Republican Party. I think the Republican Party has completely failed and it makes me so angry, Tucker.
