CNN’s Jake Tapper Defends Charlie Brown: ‘Not a Loser’
“While other cartoon characters’ ‘humor’ was rooted in gluttony (Garfield, Hagar the Horrible) or mischief (Dennis the Menace), Charlie Brown’s defining characteristic has been for decades his insecurity,” writes CNN’s Jake Tapper — host of CNN’s The Lead, Mediaite’s choice for best cable news show — in the foreword to the latest volume of The Complete Peanuts.
