Kathleen Sebelius Not Interested in a Senate Run
Following her announced resignation from the Health and Human Services Department, Sec. Kathleen Sebelius, told the New York Times Thursday, via a spokeswoman that she is not interested in running for the U.S. Senate in Kansas as a Democrat.
“Secretary Sebelius is continuing her important work at H.H.S. and is not considering a run for the Senate,” the statement read.
Sebelius announced her resignation from HHS last week. According to the Times, Kansas Democrats immediately sought Sebelius to challenge Republican incumbent Sen. Pat Roberts. She had previously been twice elected as the state’s governor.
And so, unless there are some big surprises in the works, expect not to see Sebelius on any tickets this November.
