‘Pure Political Theater!’ Charlamagne tha God Blasts Trump Hush Money Trial as ‘Waste of Time’ After President-Elect Gets Discharge

Charlamagne tha God called Donald Trump’s hush money trial “pure political theater” after the president-elect received an unconditional discharge.

Last week, Trump was sentenced for falsifying business records to cover up hush money payments to adult film star Stormy Daniels — with whom the president-elect allegedly had an affair in 2006. The payments were made during his 2016 presidential campaign.

The sentence, however, amounts to nothing. With an unconditional discharge, Trump will face no punishment of any kind.

“What a waste of time,” Charlamagne said on Monday’s episode of The Breakfast Club. “I mean, what a waste of time. Pure political theater. They were never, ever going to convict a former, or sitting, president of nothing.”

Although Trump won’t be punished, the sentencing does mean that he’s technically a convicted felon. Charlamagne also took aim at liberals for calling that a “win.”

“And what was even more ridiculous was watching, you know, liberals celebrate this,” Charlamagne continued. “Like, this is not a win. Who cares if you can call him a convicted felon when you still gotta call him president for the next four years? Who cares?”

The Breakfast Club co-host DJ Envy then pondered how much taxpayer money the ultimately fruitless trial ended up costing.
