Dave Portnoy wants Michigan’s suspended staffer at Barstool.

Last week, the University of Michigan football team announced it was being investigated amid allegations that the team stole the play signs of its opponents. As a result of this investigation, staffer Connor Stalions was suspended with pay by the university. He’s alleged to have purchased tickets for more than 30 games over the last three years and having people across the country attend the games. Once at the games, these people would record the sidelines of Michigan’s future opponents to learn their signs.

Since 1994, in-person, off-campus scouting has been banned in the NCAA. Despite this, multiple college coaches have come out and implied it’s not that big a deal — including Colorado head coach Deion Sanders.

Portnoy is among those who think the issue is being blown out of proportion. On Wednesday, he publicly offered Stalions a job with Barstool.

“Conor Stalians has a standing offer for employment at Barstool Sports,” Portnoy said. “I’d be proud to hire a Marine, a Michigan Man, and a born leader. We’d be lucky to have him. I don’t penalize winners. I promote them.”
