‘I Don’t Respect Him’: SiriusXM Host Michelle Beadle Erupts on Stephen A. Smith Amid News He’s Taking Her Time Slot

SiriusXM host Michelle Beadle slammed Stephen A. Smith on Wednesday — amid news the ESPN star is taking over her time slot on SiriusXM’s Mad Dog Sports Radio channel.

In an interview with the sports business outlet Front Office Sports, Beadle delivered a blunt assessment of the man who is replacing her.

“I don’t respect him,” Beadle said. “I don’t respect his work. He doesn’t like me.”

Beadle traced the origin of her feud with Smith to 2014 — when he made controversial comments about domestic violence which got him suspended by ESPN for a week. Beadle described the remarks as “piggish comments,” and cited that moment as a turning point in their relationship.

“I just don’t respect him,” Beadle told Front Office Sports. “I think he gets things wrong all the time. I’m not talking about opinions; those can never be wrong. But factually, when you spread yourself so thin, it’s hard to be right. Not a fan.”

While she didn’t go after Smith quite as aggressively during her show Wednesday, Beadle made her feelings clear about SiriusXM’s move to replace her and colleague Cody Decker.

“It was a little embarrassing!” Beadle said. “I’m not gonna lie. I’ve been in this business for 20-plus years. I’ve been treated poorly a couple times. This didn’t feel good.”

Beadle elaborated on the particulars, in her interview with Front Office Sports — stating she was “totally blindsided” by the move.

“I don’t care that we’re being replaced or what have you,” Beadle said. “It happens all the time. But a little respect would have been nice. Good Lord. I was totally blindsided. Just really embarrassed, to be honest.”
