WATCH: 10-Year-Old Phillies Fan Gives Incredible Breakdown of How He Got Bryce Harper’s Helmet After it Was Thrown into the Crowd

There was at least one Philadelphia Phillies fan that wasn’t completely furious about Bryce Harper’s ejection in Thursday’s game.

In the third inning of the Phillies’ final home game of the regular season, Harper attempted to check his swing on a 3-2 pitch. Unfortunately for Harper, the home plate umpire elected to appeal to Thursday night’s third base umpire — the infamous Angel Hernandez — and the checked swing was ruled a swinging strike. Harper immediately started screaming at Hernandez and was eventually ejected. A replay then showed that Harper was nowhere near swinging.

In frustration, Harper threw his batting helmet into the crowd before leaving the game.

When a kid was seen wearing the unique keepsake, NBS Sports move quickly to get the play-by-play on how he became the lucky fan.

“At first, I saw him throw it; and I knew I wouldn’t get it so I kinda just stood still,” 10-year-old Hayden Dorfman said. “There was like three or four dad just diving in, and it was pure chaos. I did not wanna go in there.

“But then I kinda just stood on the outside in case it fumbled out, but the dads thought I was going for it so they started yelling, ‘Give it to the kid,’ and that worked.

To end the interview, Hayden was asked if Hernandez was now his favorite umpire now that he has such a special souvenir.

“No,” he said without hesitation.

Unbeknownst to Hayden, his night was about to get even better. He was later approached by security guards who informed him that Harper wanted to sign the helmet. Naturally, Hayden and his father agreed.
