Trump Education Chief McMahon Gets Clowned By Hackers Live Onstage At Conference

Trump Secretary of Education Linda McMahon was interrupted by hackers who heckled her and played clown music over the sound system during her Q&A at a conservative conference.

World Wrestling Entertainment co-founder-turned-cabinet member McMahon is no stranger to protesters and hecklers as Trump’s controversial pick to head the Department of Education.

But things took an unusual turn as she sat for a Q&A with former Governor and Young America’s Foundation President Scott Walker at the YAF conference.

As McMahon told Walker about regulations around federal education dollars, a voice on the sound system began heckling McMahon as “a corrupt billionaire donor who knows nothing about education.”

Walker reacted by accusing Democratic senators of joining forces with the Chinese Communist Party in an attempt at humor.

The disruptions continued, including more heckling, a few bars of the Curb Your Enthusiasm music, and the well-known clown anthem Entry of the Gladiators cued to McMahon discussing President Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner:

EDUCATION SECRETARY LINDA MCMAHON: So as I have spoken to some of the senators about this, I said, we’re gonna take this. The funding will come from the Department of Education.

HACKED VOICE: So let’s talk free speech. Linda McMahon is a corrupt billionaire donor who knows nothing about education–

FORMER GOV. SCOTT WALKER: Apparently, it’s the CCP didn’t like that. They’re cutting into our technology.

(LAUGHTER AND APPLAUSE)

EDUCATION SECRETARY LINDA MCMAHON: We’re getting a little feedback in here.

FORMER GOV. SCOTT WALKER: I think it was a few of the liberal senators in connection with the CCP thought they’d try and cut into that.

EDUCATION SECRETARY LINDA MCMAHON: So, you know, what’s interesting is that when I talk to the senators and I say, let me show you how this will work. We’ll take this program–.

(DISRUPTIONS CONTINUE) –out of the Department of Labor, I mean, out of education–.

When I was being confirmed, Senate confirmed for the position, I was really attacked a little bit by some of the senators who were saying. So, what are you actually going to be doing, why would you close down the Department of Education?

(INDISTINCT NARRATION THROUGHOUT).

EDUCATION SECRETARY LINDA MCMAHON: … I’m so happy we’re getting to share this feed.

Speaker 2 Yeah, I said it’s the wonders of hacking, apparently, in the world of free speech. These folks on campus have dealt with this before. If liberals don’t like your ideas, they try and shut you down. But these students know if you’re under attack, you have to get your back.

(CONTINUOUS DISRUPTION TO AUDIO)

And even here on this stage, we’re not going to back down from the truth. That’s what folks do when they have poor ideas, they just try to power everybody else and even when it comes to hacking into a system, we’re not going to let that happen.

EDUCATION SECRETARY LINDA MCMAHON: That made them involved in what their children’s education was and so that was incredibly important and I urge parents, go to school board meetings, run for the school board– (CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM THEME MUSIC) — so that you can have impact–

Jared and Ivanka were incredibly helpful to him but he had you know some staff changes pretty quickly as people understood what his working style was and–.

(ENTRY OF THE GLADIATORS CLOWN MUSIC PLAYS REAL LOUD)

–and he understood you know them so but this time you know he knew he knew the story he knew how to you know how to make things work how to make things run he had the people coming in that he really wanted to work with him and and then he’d had this little gap. You know, sometimes kids in college take a gap year, well he didn’t voluntarily take a gap term, but I think it turned out to be an incredible thing for him to have the time to reflect and to see what the other administration had done.
