Trump Media launched a streaming platform in partnership with Newsmax on Monday, in a deal that expands the presence of the conservative cable news network internationally.
“Truth+ offers family-friendly TV programming for patriotic Americans who want an alternative to woke entertainment corporations and biased news channels,” President Donald Trump’s media company TMTG said in a press release.
The Truth+ TV platform will serve as an app on web and mobile offering streaming channels and on-demand content, including Newsmax’s flagship cable news network, the company said.
Newsmax CEO Chris Ruddy said in his own statement: “We’re excited to partner with Trump Media as part of our growing distribution outside of the U.S. Being on Truth+ will introduce Newsmax to a new audience and will create a significant boost in viewership around the world.”
According to Reuters, shares of Trump Media & Technology Group rose about 0.6% to $19.06 upon news of the deal.
Trump Media CEO Devin Nunes said: “There is clearly a need globally for fresh perspectives on the great issues of our day, and we’re laying the groundwork to challenge the woke news monolith with hard-hitting, non-woke reporting and commentary.”
