3 Dead after Driver Plows into Crowd Leaving School Christmas Concert

At least three people are dead and nine more injured after a driver ran a red light in Redondo Beach, CA Wednesday evening and plowed into a crowd of people leaving a Christmas concert.

The incident occurred following an elementary school Christmas concert at St. James Catholic Church. Attendees were crossing the street from the church when a female driver allegedly ran a red light and drove into the group of pedestrians, eventually colliding with two other vehicles.

The driver is in custody and is being investigated for a presumed DUI.

The death toll rose to three Thursday morning, and authorities say at least one of the victims is a child. Authorities believe one of the victims may have flown into the windshield of a passing car.
