C-SPAN Caller: Helen Thomas’ Comments Were “Spot On”

C-SPAN seems to be the outlet of choice for callers who want to share their extreme opinions with the rest of the world. This morning, a caller stated he agreed with Helen Thomas, whose controversial remarks about Jews and Palestine last week caused her to announce her retirement today. The caller said Thomas’ comments were “spot on.” Thomas has been under fire since she suggested Jews should leave Israel and “go home” to Germany and Poland.

The caller also said the Jews were “immigrants coming from Europe who were kicked out mainly because of diseases and homosexuality that were spreading.” He went on to say that the Holocaust occurred because Germany wanted Jews out of their country, but “nobody would take them” because they were spreading disease through prostitution and homosexuality.

While this seems ridiculous, it is not the first time viewers have aired such grievances on C-SPAN, with host Bill Scanlan fielding the calls each time.
