CBS Reporter Finds Only Three Harris Supporters After Visiting Multiple Nevada Spots: ‘People Are Really Excited About Trump’
CBS correspondent Adriana Diaz could only find three supporters of Vice President Kamala Harris after visiting multiple Nevada locations.
“People are really excited about Trump,” Diaz said about Nevada, where Harris and former President Donald Trump have been running neck-and-neck in polls despite a Republican not winning the state since 2004.
Diaz visited restaurants in Reno, North Las Vegas, and Pahrump, and found mostly only Trump supporters willing to talk.
“What was really incredible is, in every single restaurant, of the people willing to talk to us, we could only find one Harris supporter in every restaurant – and we left no stone unturned,” she said.
Diaz said she approached “every single person,” though she joked she avoided one man who appeared a bit too intoxicated to talk politics.
Leanne Schaefer and Stephen Schaefer were open about their Trump support when speaking to Diaz.
“I want someone who’s strong, who demands respect and gets the respect and can deal with foreign leaders. I think Trump’s the guy,” Leanne said.
Her husband, Stephen, added that he “fears” for the future so much that he only recently became a gun owner and now he has four firearms.
A group of women who were all identified as business owners laid into President Joe Biden’s administration over spending and inflation.
“Everybody feels it at the grocery store, at the gas pumps. And yes, I do attribute that to Biden,” one of the three women said.
“Sometimes the solution is to tear it down and rebuild,” another said.
One man told Diaz that he’d be voting for the first time since 2008 for Harris after not feeling motivated to head to the polls for Biden or Trump.
“This could be the first opportunity to have a first Asian president in office,” he said.
