Chattanooga Shooter’s Uncle Has Been Detained for Questioning in Jordan

cnn chattanoogaThe uncle of Chattanooga shooter Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez has been detained by authorities in Jordan for questioning.

The lawyer for Asaad Ibrahim Asaad Haj Ali told the Associated Press today his client has been in custody for days, following the shooting at two military facilities that ended with four dead Marines and one dead Navy sailor.

A Jordanian official said that the uncle and “other relevant people” have been questioned.

The FBI is looking into Abdulazeez’s background, including the months he spent in Jordan, living with his uncle, just last year. He worked for his uncle’s company while there and it’s possible he interacted with persons who perhaps radicalized him.
