CNN Catches Hundreds of Refugees Storming Hungary’s Border

A CNN camera crew stationed on the Serbian-Hungarian border was on the scene when hundreds of refugees staged a breakout and raced across the border.

CNN’s Arwa Damon raced after the refugees as they ran through a cornfield to evade law enforcement, who ran after them. “There are hundreds of them who staged this breakout, because they were fed up with the conditions they were being held in,” she explained during the live shot. “They couldn’t take it anymore. Young, old, men, women, parents with families, all breaking through.”

As they finally broke through the cornfield, they arrived in a flat plain were the cameras more clearly caught the hundreds of refugees continuing their exodus further away from the war-torn Middle East.
