CNN Founder Ted Turner Thinks the Network is ‘Sticking With Politics’ a Bit Too Much

The founder of CNN thinks that the network is a bit heavy on political coverage these days.

Speaking with Ted Koppel in an interview that will air in full this weekend on CBS Sunday Morning, Turner admitted that only watches the network — which he hasn’t had anything to do with for years — occasionally.

When he does, though, he wishes they wouldn’t be so heavily focused on politics.

“I think they’re sticking with politics a little too much,” he said about CNN.

He then suggested it would do better to have a “more balanced agenda.”

Turner stressed, however, that his views are “just one person’s opinion.”

During the same interview, Turner also talked about his relationship with fellow media mogul Rupert Murdoch.

After Koppel noted that he and Murdoch didn’t get along so well, Turner said the Murdoch didn’t hate him, he envied him.

“I was ahead of him a little bit,” Turner added when asked to explain why he was the subject of Murdoch’s envy.
