CNN Host Accidentally Reports on ‘Boris Yeltsin’s’ U.N. Speech
A CNN host accidentally reverted back in time during Monday’s coverage of Vladimir Putin’s speech before the U.N., identifying him as former Russian President Boris Yeltsin.
“Russian President Boris Yeltsin wrapping his remarks,” CNN’s Ashleigh Banfield said after Putin’s speech was finished.
“Oh, excuse me!” she said shortly afterwards. “Boy, I’m hearkening back 20 years. Russian President Putin wrapping up his comments to the United Nations.”
Boris Yeltsin, who died in 2007, has not been President of Russia since the year 1999.
