CNN Panel Tackles ‘Striking’ Eric Trump-George Conway Feud: POTUS’ Son ‘Shouldn’t Have Weighed In’

On Tuesday, CNN’s New Day held a panel discussion on the brewing fight between George Conway and Eric Trump.

Kellyanne Conway‘s husband drew attention this week when he suggested that Donald Trump was on the verge of obstruction of justice and witness tampering with some of his latest tweets. Mr. Conway has been a prominent critic of the White House for some time, but last night, the president’s son blasted Conway’s “utter disrespect” for his wife with his criticisms against Eric’s father.

As Alisyn Camerota remarked on how “striking” it is that Mr. Conway is so public in denouncing the White House, Anita McBride said the attack from the president’s son was the most remarkable part of the subject.

“Eric shouldn’t have weighed in you think,” Camerota asked.

“I think he shouldn’t have,” McBride replied.

The conversation continued by focusing on how Kellyanne Conway was visibly irritated whenever she was asked before about her husband’s disagreements with her boss. It concluded with David Chalian saying Eric Trump tried to draw a distinction between the Conways last night because he won’t “let him get away with being a Trump critic just because his wife has a close relationship with the president.”
