CNN Reports Luigi Mangione Must Choose Between ‘Chicken Parmesan and a Dish Called Pizza Beans’

CNN reported on Thursday that accused UnitedHealthcare CEO killer Luigi Mangione had to choose between “chicken parmesan or a dish called pizza beans” for dinner in his cell at State Correctional Institution Huntingdon, Pennsylvania.

Reporting on the accused killer’s conditions at the prison, CNN national correspondent Jason Carroll reported that Mangione was currently being confined in a 15 x 6 foot cell with a bed, sink, toilet, and desk, and that he was not interacting with other inmates.

“Meals at the facility are served three times a day: 6:15, 10:40, and supper at 5:15,” said Carroll. “Tonight on the menu, Mangione has a choice between chicken parmesan and a dish called pizza beans.”

Carroll continued, “The Department of Corrections says Mangione has taken his meals in his cell and is not interacting with other inmates, adding, ‘All inmates are afforded time outside their cells even if they are a higher custody level.'”

Mangione is being held at Huntingdon as he awaits extradition to New York. Mangione is accused of shooting and killing UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson on a Manhattan sidewalk last week before fleeing to Pennsylvania.

Mangione was arrested in Altoona after being recognized at a McDonald’s. During the arrest, police found a manifesto, a firearm similar to the one used in the killing of Thompson, and several fake IDs.

NewsNation’s Alex Caprariello spoke to several inmates at Huntingdon on Wednesday after they shouted, “Free Luigi!” and “Luigi’s conditions suck!” from a window.

“This is the strangest interview I’ve ever conducted,” remarked Caprariello.
