CNN: Second Video Shows Texas Man Killed by Police Was Holding Knife

PicMonkey Collage - CopsCNN reports that their source has seen a second video of the shooting of Texas man Gilbert Flores by police officers, and that the second video showing Flores was holding a knife.

The first video appears to show Flores approaching police slowly with his hands up. Flores then appears to be shot by the Bexar County sheriffs, as the man filming says “They just shot that [expletive], bro.” The video of the shooting went viral after it was publicized by San Antonio ABC affiliate KSAT, sparking widespread outrage.

However, one of his hands is obscured by a telephone pole, making it impossible to tell whether or not he was holding anything. According to CNN’s source, a second video of the shooting obtained by the police shows his obscured hand was holding a weapon.

In an earlier statement, the Bexar County Police claimed that “deputies attempted to arrest the armed suspect, but he resisted. The deputies used non-lethal weapons to try and detain the man. When those efforts failed, the deputies fired shots hitting the man.”
