Conway on Trump Producing Apprentice: He’s Allowed to Do Things in His ‘Spare Time’

conwaySenior Donald Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway confirmed that the president-elect will remain an executive producer for The Celebrity Apprentice, which he’ll do as a hobby while he’s in the White House.

In an interview with CNN’s New Day on Friday, Conway said that the president-elect was talking with experts to determine whether it would be acceptable to remain involved in the show that contributed to his fame. Alisyn Camerota questioned whether Trump’s work on the show would take away from his time to fulfill his presidential duties, though Conway likened the mogul’s role to President Obama‘s golf trips.

“Were we so concerned about the hours and hours and hours spent on the golf course of the current president?” Conway said. “Presidents have a right to do things in their spare time or their leisure time. Nobody objects to that.”

Camerota reminding Conway that Obama was criticized for taking breaks from his job, and she asked Conway if her comments meant that Trump wouldn’t go on trips to any of his golf courses.
