Erin BURNett? CNN Anchor Dons Marijuana-Themed Glasses For ‘4/20’
On OutFront Thursday, a giggly Erin Burnett got into the stoner spirit a wee early for a segment about CU Boulder’s 4/20 Smoke Out. Burnett briefly flubbed her lines, apologizing glazedly. “Sorry, it’s as if I was on some sort of a drug,” Burnett joked, clearly far from high.
Reporter Jim Spellman was on the front lines of the “chronic Mecca,” Norlin Quad, where thousands of pot-heads were expected to celebrate, taking note of the fact that fish fertilizer, of all things, would be used as a deterrent to the puff-puff-passers.
When he segued back to the studio, to the viewing audience’s surprise and Spellman’s amusement, Burnett was rocking some far-out stoner fashion.
After the show, Burnett wished a few of her stoner fans a “happy 4/20”.
HIGH-larious.
In fairness, this wasn’t the first time Burnett sported marijuana frames on her show. Last December, Burnett showed off her glasses during another marijuana segment and protested to Jeffrey Toobin that wearing pot shades was the closest thing she’s come to smoking cannabis. “Well, that’s the difference between you and me,” Toobin joked.
