Fox & Friends Address Jokes about Rice Video, Sort Of

There were many #hottakes about yesterday’s video of former Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice punching then-fiancée Janay Palmer and knocking her unconscious, but Fox & Friends’ “The message is, take the stairs” was definitely the hottest of them all.

A Fox spox promised Washington Post’s Erik Wemple that the troika would address its domestic abuse comedy routine this a.m. Here’s the entirety of their remarks:

Comments that we made during this story yesterday made some people feel like we were taking this situation too lightly. We are not. We were not. Domestic abuse is a very serious issue to us, I assure you.
