Fox & Friends Shocked by Footage of Plane Engulfed In Flames at Tokyo Airport: ‘Remarkable That Anyone Survived’

Fox & Friends was taken aback by the emerging footage from a Japan Airlines plane that burst into flames after a reported collision with a Coast Guard aircraft on the runway.

As Japan reels from the earthquake that hit the country’s western coast on Monday, Tokyo’s Haneda airport faces an emergency involving an Airbus and a Coast Guard plane. The cause of the incident is currently unclear, but the footage shows the Japan Airlines plane on fire as it streaked down the runway, and emergency services were on the scene.

Fox & Friends led with the news on Tuesday morning, explaining that 367 passengers and 12 crew members were safely evacuated from the Japan Airlines plane, but five crew members on the Coast Guard plane have been confirmed dead. Griff Jenkins focused on the shots the show was airing from the inferno as he exclaimed, “It is remarkable that anyone survived that!”

“It really is,” Ainsley Earnhardt agreed, while Steve Doocy called the scale of the blaze “extraordinary.”

“It’s frightening to see this,” Jenkins continued, “because, as we are showing you on the screen, a possible collision with a commercial plane — and we have had so many near misses at our own airports in the country. It’s really gotta make you think about that.”
