‘Fox News Lies!’ Fox Reporter Interrupted by Hecklers at Protest Outside ICE Detention Facility

A live hit by Fox News reporter Alexis McAdams got unruly on Friday when some protestors interrupted as she reported from an ICE detention facility in Newark.

Hours earlier, Newark Mayor Ras Baraka was arrested while visiting the Delaney Hall Detention Center, which can hold up to 1,000 detainees. Alina Habba, the acting U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey, alleged Baraka was trespassing at the facility and was asked to leave multiple times. Three Democratic members of Congress were also there, and were allowed in the building after reportedly explaining that they may access the site because of their congressional oversight authority.

On Friday’s edition of The Ingraham Angle, Laura Ingraham went to McAdams for a live report from the detention center.

“Hey, Laura, I just want to show what you is going on here in New Jersey,” she began. “There’s a lot of people and there’s a lot of chanting saying, ‘Free Mayor Baraka!’ They want their mayor out of this facility. I’m gonna flip around and show it to you. This is where they took him.”

As she spoke, a protester could be heard addressing the crowd with a megaphone.

McAdams noted that officials claimed Baraka “pushed his way into the facility without permission.” One person off-camera took issue with that account and said, “That’s not true. That’s just like Fox. Always lying. Fox News lies!”

McAdams cut to footage of the arrest before wrapping up her report. As she did so, a man appeared next to her and seemed to be recording Fox’s camera with his phone. Another protester held a sign between McAdams’ face and the Fox camera. It read, “From Palestine to Mexico, all walls have got to go.”

“Alexis, the people behind you are, you know, they’re pulling stunts,” Ingraham said. “This is clearly like a big political setup. So, we’ll let you go. And be safe there, my friend.”
