Fox’s Stacey Dash Clashes with Meredith Vieira over Gender Pay Gap

Fox News’s Stacy Dash butted heads with Meredith Vieira over the wage gap between men and women, with Dash acknowledging that it does exist, but is really the fault of shrinking-violet ladies who can’t assert themselves.

“I feel like it’s an excuse. It’s the same thing as race,” said Dash during her appearance today on The Meredith Vieira Show. “If there are opportunities, seize them. And be prepared for them. And be the best, if that’s what it takes. If you have to be extraordinary, be extraordinary.”

Vieira responded by pointing to numerous studies indicating that the wage gap did indeed exist, and Dash surprisingly agreed, kind of.

“I know that the numbers are true, but I feel like your daughter will be able to make as much money as she wants in her life. Just like you are.” Dash pointed to Vieira. “I mean, look at you.”

“For many years, I was not getting paid the same as the guys,” Vieira countered.

“And you think it’s because you’re a woman?”

“I think that’s a lot to do with it,” Vieira said.
