‘I’ve Not Heard All This’: Jim Jordan Pleads Ignorance When Confronted With Damning Allegations Against Republican He’s Campaigning With

CNN’s Kasie Hunt confronted Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) on Thursday over his continued support for Rep. Max Miller (R-OH), prompting Jordan to insist, “I’ve not heard all this,” when asked about domestic violence allegations made by Miller’s ex-wife.

Emily Moreno, the daughter of Sen. Bernie Moreno (R-OH), accused her ex-husband in divorce filings of physically and emotionally abusing her during their marriage, according to a Tuesday New York Times report. Moreno alleged Miller threw hot water on her, held a gun to her head, slammed her into a wall, and fractured their daughter’s collarbone. Miller has vehemently denied the allegations and filed a defamation lawsuit against his ex-wife.

When asked if Miller “should resign” from Congress, Jordan said Thursday on The Arena with Kasie Hunt, “Well, look, this, this is a family matter. I know Max is a good man. I was up there campaigning for him. I hope he wins reelection. He’s done a good job as a member of Congress, and we should all pray for his family. These are difficult times that they’re going through.”

Hunt went on to reiterate, in great detail, Moreno’s allegations, prompting Jordan to interject, “Yeah, Kasie, I’m not, I’ve not, I’ve not, I’ve not heard all this stuff.”

“Well, it was in The New York Times,” Hunt clapped back, before playing the congressman a clip of his criticism of Democrats for supporting former Maine Senate hopeful Graham Platner, who recently dropped out of the race after facing serious accusations of sexual assault.

“Why does that not apply here to Republicans who want to keep power in this seat?” questioned Hunt.

“Well, I don’t know the context of the question I was asked about Mr. Platner, but my guess is it was about all the ridiculous positions he’s taken,” said Jordan.

Referencing the chyron in the Newsmax clip she showed, Hunt clarified, “The banner there says, ‘Platner’s ex-girlfriend accuses him of abuse.”

Now bringing up Platner’s frequent critiques of Israel and his Nazi-coded tattoo, Jordan attempted, “Yeah, well, I don’t know. I didn’t answer — I don’t know the answer to that question. I think I was just dealing with who he was as a candidate, and the crazy anti-Semitic, anti-Israel, pro-Nazi positions that he has taken.”
