Kayleigh McEnany Confirms: Michael Cohen is Still RNC Deputy Finance Chair Despite Investigations

Even though Michael Cohen has a lot on his plate these days with the various lawsuits and troubling reports about his past activities, Kayleigh McEnany says he’s still a deputy finance chair for the Republican National Committee.

The RNC spokesman confirmed the news today while speaking to Cheddar correspondent and Mediaite alum J.D. Durkin. McEnany also brushed off the fact that Cohen has been raided by the FBI and is currently facing a criminal investigation over the potential campaign finance violations he committed by paying hush money to Stormy Daniels.

“You know, there’s ongoing litigation, and we’ll take it step by step,” McEnany said. “I have concerns about the violation of attorney-client privilege, and when the Southern District of New York invaded his office, swept up material, violating the President’s privacy, his clients’ privacy, Michael Cohen’s privacy. So that’s where my concerns lie.”

McEnany wouldn’t say whether Cohen would be dismissed from the RNC if he ends up getting charged.

Cohen’s continued relationship the RNC is rather interesting considering all the recent news about how he met with a Russian oligarch before Trump’s inauguration and apparently acted as a lobbyist selling access to the president.

Furthermore, Elliot Broidy recently stepped down from his position as RNC deputy finance chairman when the news came out that he hired Cohen to help him quietly pay a $1.6 million settlement to a Playboy model he had a sexual liaison with.
