Kimmel Slams Roy Moore’s Lawyer For MSNBC Interview: Maybe Moore ‘Found Him At The Mall’
On Wednesday night, Jimmy Kimmel took on the ongoing controversy surrounding Roy Moore.
Kimmel explained to his audience how the GOP Alabama Senate candidate was accused of child molestation and was reportedly put on a watch list at a mall where he pursued younger women and girls.
“How does a man in his 30s get on a watch list at the mall?” Kimmel asked. “What man in his 30s is even willingly going to the mall in the first place? The only kids you should be picking up at the mall are your own kids, that’s it!”
He then brought up the strange interview Moore’s lawyer Trenton Garmon did on MSNBC when he invoked the “diverse background” of host Ali Velshi while defending his client.
“Are we sure he isn’t an attorney for the other side? His defense is Canada!” Kimmel reacted. “Maybe he found his lawyer at the mall!”
Kimmel then pivoted to Moore’s pushback against accuser Beverly Young Nelson‘s yearbook, which they claim that his signature was forged.
“This is the yearbook equivalent of asking O.J. [Simpson] to try on the glove in the courtroom,” Kimmel quipped.
He then mocked Moore’s attorney Phillip Jaueregui for claiming that he has witnessed his client in front of at least 10,000 women and “not once” did he act inappropriately.
“Well, that settles it I guess…” Kimmel responded. “That’s some defense. ‘My client hasn’t sexually harassed at least 10,000 women. I’ve seen it with my own eyes!'”
