Lara Trump Praises ‘Refreshing’ John Fetterman: ‘Reminds Me of Someone Else I Know… Donald J. Trump’
Fox News’ Lara Trump praised Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA), favorably comparing him to President Donald Trump.
Lara Trump joined Martha MacCallum on Tuesday’s The Story where she gushed over Fetterman criticizing his own party and getting into heated debates with liberals like The View’s Sunny Hostin.
Lara Trump said:
It’s so refreshing, Martha, to see that there is someone like John Fetterman out there, a politician who does the right thing, regardless of the pressure he feels from his own party or a TV host like Sonny Hostin. They are getting aggressive with him as well. He reminds me of someone else I know…his name is Donald J. Trump.
This is what people love. They love authenticity and they love someone who is willing to stand up and fight for the right things. And you’re right, John Fitterman voted every single time with Republicans to reopen the government, to fund the government. When I sat down with him for an interview for my show, he talked about the fact that he doesn’t ever agree, no matter who’s at fault, with shutting down the government.
Look at the the havoc that it wreaked across our country. Look, at the flights right now. Look at the fact that you have, you know, people who rely on government assistance, who haven’t been able to get SNAP benefits, etc. They would rather make a political play on the left and and, you know, make it hurt the entire country than do something that is right. And I think it’s really nice that you have John Fetterman out there who at one time, Martha, we all looked at and said, he’s kind of fringe, he’s kind of far left. He’s now the most common sense in the Democrat Party and how refreshing it is that he’s continuing to be that way.
Fetterman recently sat for an interview with Lara Trump on Fox News, where he offered praise for the president after they shared a meal.
“I would use the same words my friend Bill Maher uses — gracious. Absolutely,” he said. “It was pleasant, and it wasn’t a show or anything. it was just a conversation, and we might, could [find] things we agree on, and I thought it was a good conversation.”
