Louis C.K. Is Taking a Break from Louie and Everything Is Awful

LOUIE_320Comedian, actor, writer, editor, director and ginger Louis C.K. is taking an indefinite hiatus from his hit Emmy Award-winning television show, Louie.

John Landgraf, CEO of FX Networks and FX Productions, made the announcement during the Television Critics Association summer press tour on Friday morning. He probably should have waited until the “Friday news dump.” Then gain, Landgraf’s assistants probably forgot to tell him those usually occur late Friday afternoon.

“After writing, directing, starring in and mostly editing 61 episodes of television,” Landgraf told the press, “he’s anxious to take a break from the show and work on other things.”

On the one hand, this makes perfect sense. Louis does just about everything for the hit FX show. Plus, he’s always busy touring, writing new material for his stand-up, and developing other projects with other comedians and actors. As THR points out, he’s already got writing and producing obligations for a feature film project and two television shows.

I wonder if this has anything to do with Louis being spotted in New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio‘s entourage earlier this week. When cornered by The New York Times, the comedian confessed to not really having a clue as to why he was there, or what he was working on.

Welp, now we know it’s definitely not for Louie.
