Louisiana Senator Slams ‘Bilingual’ AOC Over Shutdown: ‘She’s Speaking English and Stupid’

Senator John Kennedy (R-LA) slammed Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) in a Friday appearance on Fox News, saying, “She must be bilingual — she’s speaking English and stupid.”

Kennedy told Fox’s Johnny Jones that while Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) is “getting a lot of the blame” for Wednesday’s government shutdown, “the group calling the shots is the socialist wing,” which he said is spearheaded by Ocasio-Cortez.

“I don’t mean any disrespect,” said Kennedy, “but based on her policies and beliefs, Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez is single-handedly trying to put an end to dumb blonde jokes. Based on her policies — $1.5 trillion. She must be bilingual. She’s speaking English and stupid.”

Along with Kennedy, President Donald Trump’s administration has continued to blame Democrats for the shutdown, with Trump writing the following message on Truth Social on Thursday:

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) rebuked that allegation Friday on Call to Activism’s The Daily Mic Drop, saying, “These people lie for a living,” pointing out that extending taxpayer dollars to cover healthcare for undocumented immigrants is already illegal under federal law.
