Maria Bartiromo on McCabe Firing: FBI Leadership ‘Went Rogue’ to ‘Change The Results of an Election’

Maria Bartiromo appeared on the second edition of Fox News’s recently debuted Sunday night show The Wise Guys — and defended President Donald Trump’s criticisms of the FBI amidst the firing of deputy FBI director Andrew McCabe.

In a preview clip of the show — which airs Sunday night at 8 p.m. but was filmed before McCabe’s firing — Bartiromo sits down with moderator Bill Bennett, Reagan’s education secretary, as well as panelists Oliver North, Ari Fleischer and attorney Robert Bennett.

“The FBI as an institution has not been attacked,” Bartiromo contended. “The president attacked the leadership of the FBI. Many times this president has come out and said the broad institution of the FBI is doing a very good job and actually trying to keep us safe.”

“But the leadership,” the Fox Business host continued, “there’s a reason that ten people within the FBI or Department of Justice have been reassigned or fired.”

In an appearance on Fox & Friends Weekend Sunday morning, Bartiromo reacted to news of McCabe’s firing, and reiterated that “the agency has been besmirched by a group of people at the leadership,” naming former director James Comey and McCabe.

“They obviously went rogue and decided to take it upon themselves to abuse power and change the results of an election.”

The Wise Guys airs tonight at 8 p.m. EST.
