MSNBC Stars Psaki and O’Donnell Laugh at Trump Over New ‘Cognitive’ Rant: ‘Madness at Work!’

MSNBC hosts Jen Psaki and Lawrence O’Donnell laughed and mocked President Donald Trump’s recent rant bragging about his performance on his latest cognitive test — which he now falsely equates with an I.Q. test.

Trump spoke to reporters aboard Air Force One en route to Japan on Monday, during which he proudly challenged Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) to what he falsely characterized as “an aptitude test”:

TRUMP: They have Jasmine Crockett, a low IQ person. They have uh… AOC’s low IQ. You give her an IQ test… have her pass, like the exams that I decided to take when I was at Walter Reed. I took … those are very hard, they’re really aptitude tests, I guess, in a certain way, but they’re cognitive tests.

Let AOC go against Trump. Let Jasmine go against Trump. I don’t think Jasmine… the first couple of questions are easy: a tiger, an elephant, a giraffe, you know. When you get up to about five or six, and then when you get up to 10 and 20 and 25. They couldn’t come close to answering any of those questions.

The test is called the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MOCA), which begins, as Trump noted, with tasks like identifying animal drawings and progresses to a climax of knowing where you are and what day it is.

During the show toss on Tuesday night’s edition of MSNBC’s The Last Word, O’Donnell and Psaki roasted Trump over his boastful rant after Psaki raised it in her closing segment:

JEN PSAKI: Donald Trump was feeling extra proud of himself yesterday because he passed a really difficult test, one that he bragged had some very hard questions.

Questions like, name these animals and draw a clock. Good job, Mr. President!

For his part, House Speaker Mike Johnson held a press conference earlier today where he rattled through a litany of accusations against a certain former president, seemingly completely unaware of just how close to home his critiques were hitting.

JEN PSAKI: Maybe someone needs to ask Mike Johnson to name a few animals, maybe.
