MSNBC’s S.E. Cupp Breaks Down On The Air Discussing Connecticut School Shooting

The tragedy at Newtown, Connecticut’s Sandy Hook Elementary School, which claimed the lives of 20 children and 8 adults so far, is still sinking in, and on MSNBC’s The Cycle Wednesday afternoon, conservative commentator S.E. Cupp provided a poignant reminder that the news anchors who deliver and discuss the details of this unimaginable tragedy are human, too.

While introducing child psychologist Dr. Joshua Weiner, S.E. broke down momentarily, overcome by the horrific details of the crime, just as President Obama did during his remarks on the tragedy:

Given the enormity of this crime, it’s really a miracle that anyone in television news can keep their composure on a day like today, but S.E.’s visible grief is a reminder that, no matter how you feel about the issues that this tragedy highlights, we all have a share in it. In my earlier, angrier column, I wrote about the necessity to speak about them, but I would also hope that when we do that, we recognize and respect each other’s very human grief. As important as it is that we talk about it, we also need to exercise care in how we talk about it.
